Prayer Worrier at Your
Service!
Cast your burden on the
LORD, and he will sustain
you – Psalm 55:22
After our
arrival to Atlanta
for work in April
2000, the initial period was very challenging. Before the completion of
a year
of employment my project at work ended and funding dried. Not sure
whether will
get another project or get another employment, the heaviness of where
to move,
what to do were the lingering questions on my mind. That is when my
wife and I
sought God’s counsel and gave our burden to our Lord. As we were
waiting for
His grace, He gave alternative way and sustained us for the last almost
ten
years.
In
Indian villages where
there are no transportation facilities, I have seen “Stone Load
Bearers”
usually under a tree at different locations along the road side. The
person
carrying heavy load at this rest stop will leave the heavy load on the
“Load
bearer” and can take some rest and move on. It was a huge help to those
carry
along heavy loads. This is more of a rest spots.
Our
Lord encourages us
to give away our burdens to Him and His promise is that He will sustain
us. He
says, “If you believe in me, then boldly cast your cares, unbearable
life
issues, anxieties to me, I will not only sustain you but will also make
sure
you do not fall (Psalm 55:22).” What a great God we have! God is a
prayer away
and as we go to Him, He will honor our coming to Him in humble
reliance. When
you give your burdens to Him, he will take away the heaviness of your
burdens.
He will add more grace to you so you will have a release of anxieties
from your
hearts and minds. Are you struggling with unspoken issues of life and
are
looking for a person who will give you a solution for your problems,
you do
have a great load bearer on your side. Why I should believe that God
can take
away my burdens? Because “Psalm 55:22” is a promise! God is faithful to
all His
promises (Psalm 145:13). When we “go to Him” in Prayer, this means that
we
humble ourselves and telling Him, “Lord, I am unable, I am depended on
you.”
When we “cast away” our burden then we say to Him, “I trust you” for
you alone
can relieve me out of my pains. Our humility and trust on Him will
enable Him
to keep His promise and will sustain us. If you are afraid of a
situation,
trust in Him (Psalm 56:3). The Bible says in Psalm 125:1, “Those who
trust in
the LORD are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
Once
there live a man,
and he was always happy. People surprised by his extraordinary ways of
dealing
with life issues and the ability to handle problems and remain calm and
maintain happiness. He was interviewed once so people can understand
his secret
for happiness. He said, he knew a person, nick named, “Prayer Worrier”.
He
further said, whatever worries he has, will go to the “Prayer Worrier”
and tell
those concerns to him. The Prayer Worrier’s job is to listen to the
problems
and keep worrying for the person who shares the concern. He said
happily, “I
have this Prayer Worrier for all my issues and I pay him a small fee.”
The reporter asked surprisingly, “Sir, how do you pay the Prayer
Worrier
since you
do not have a job?”. The man smiled and replied, “I will tell the
Prayer Worrier
that I do
not have the money to pay and it is his problem to worry about.”
Have we
trials and
temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer – (Joseph M.
Scriven – 1855)
Cast
your Cares
on Him who gives you Peace in return! (Philippians 4:6, 7)
Prayer:
Father, I give away my life in to your hands and I ask to help me deal
life
issues in away that will honor you.
Have
a great
prayer-filled day!
