Daily Grace At Jesus` Feet January 05, 2010 Post it! And Pour
it! Pour out your
heart to HIM – Psalm
62:8 We had at our home a blank
bulletin board that was placed at our refrigerator where our children
can post
the needed home items (like tooth paste, paper rolls, straws etc.,)
before they
ran out. After a week or so my wife will find time to go and buy those
for us.
Once posted, supply is back on time before we ran out of the needed
items. Once in his sermon on prayer, Rev.
Charles Stanley
talked about the importance of “fighting the battle before the battle.”
We
should keep praying for the issues of life we may not necessarily have
at
present but that may show up in the future. For example, if currently
we have
jobs and all the needed things, instead of enjoying the world and not
spending
time with God, we must be vigilant to ask God to protect us from job
loss and
asking God to protect us from all dangers that may be ahead of us. We
can pray
and ask God to protect our children’s future from all harm. God has
designed
prayer as a great weapon for believers to use and obtain our need from
our
heavenly father. R. A.
Torrey gave four reasons for why we should pray? prayer is God’s way
for us to
obtain what we need from Him (Lu 11:3-13), because there is a devil,
and prayer
is a God-appointed way to resist him, prayer is the means God has
appointed for
us to find “grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4 : 16), and prayer
with
thanksgiving is God’s way for us to obtain freedom from anxiety and to
receive
“the peace of God” (Phil. 4 : 6-7). In Psalm 62:8, David encourages us to
“pour” out
our hearts to God. The idea of pouring is let the burden be poured out
of us.
The burden of life issues if stayed in our hearts will continue to
discourage
and damage us and will keep shaking our faith in our Father. If we pour
out a
cup of water on the ground, in no way we can get the same water in the
cup. The
idea is to clean-up our hearts from the dirt of discouragements that
Satan
fills our hearts with. We also read in Psalm 142:2, that prayer means
pouring
our complaints to him. We will pour out our hearts and complaints to
the one we
trust and rely on and also to the one we spend enough time with. Most
times,
when we have a complaint about an issue, we tend to first call someone
to share
and ultimately this may lead to gossip. Once a man had an idea and he asked God
if he may
pray to move a huge rock beside his home. God told him to go ahead and
push the
rock. After keep pushing for months, he grew so tired and wanted to
give up. He
lamented to God and said you asked me to push and I tried and tried and
tried
and I am unable to move an inch. God answered, “Yes I asked you to only
push
and moving will be my job.” If you are in a situation where you keep
pouring
and praying about a situation and seem like no answer and frustrated
that
nothing happened? Keep PUSH…ing. Yes keep PUSH (Pray Until
Something Happens)…ing. It is God’s pleasure to
answer you
according to HIS good will. When worldly parent knew how to meet the
needs
posted by their children, how much more our heavenly Father who
lavished His
love on you will meet your needs. Prayer: Lord, give me the perseverance
to keep praying for the needs
of my life and others and not to wear out when delayed. You time is
always
perfect.
