- Bro. Nirmal Stephenson Tell you the secret of Christian life is the ‘abiding in Christ Jesus’. ********* John 15:4-5 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. [5] I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. ********* Message to the unbelievers is ‘Come to Christ’ to live a winning life. Message to the believers is ‘Overcome in Christ Jesus’ to live a winning life. Today’s message is for the believers: Overcome!! ********* Rev. 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God." ' Rev. 2:11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death." ' Rev. 2:17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it." ' Rev. 2:26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations-- Rev. 3:5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Rev. 3:12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. Rev. 3:21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. ********* It does not require much explanation to say that we face a lot of challenges in life. Challenges range from personal, to marriage, work life and relationship with others etc., You may have a nice personal life but your marriage life will be in shambles{chaos, mess}. Or you may have a nice work life, probably getting 6 figure salary but you are personally unhappy. Or you may have a nice personal life, work life and a good marriage but you are bitter with someone because he cheated you or betrayed you etc., Interaction: Can anybody name some challenges in life? Ask the people. In this kind of life what are we to do? What is God’s desire and the devil’s desire for us? What is our own desire too? It is very clearly given in one verse! What the devil’s desire and God’s desire for our lives is. ********* John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. ********* The devil wants to steal our joy, kill our enthusiasm in life and destroy us totally spiritually, physically and in every way. What does Jesus desire for our lives? He desires that we have life in it’s fullness, He wants us to be delivered, free and happy. ********* Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; ********* It says very clearly in that He wants to restore, redeem, energize, charge us, to liberate, to set us free, to heal us. Well, if God wants us to be redeemed, victorious having an abundant life why we have not yet partaken of such a glorious life that is full of happiness, joy in the Spirit. Has God provided you with the resources to equip you to live a victorious life? ********* First of all, is it possible to attain such a life. Let us look at the proclamation in the bible. First is Jesus’ word Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." His resource for us: 2 Peter 1:3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, This means He has given us all things to live a godly and victorious life. Next is the testimony of some people who walked with God ********* Paul’s Testimony: Philip. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. John’s Testimony: 1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. ********* So, now having seen that God wants us to live a victorious life and having seen the testimonies of people who yielded their lives to God proclaiming that ‘We can do all things thru Christ Jesus’, let us analyze the state of our lives. Are we living a victorious life in Christ Jesus? If not. How to live such a victorious life? If you are already living such a victorious life, get more sharpened so you can make great exploits for the Lord. If not, let’s go thru some check points in our lives. ********* Check point #1: Sin. It is any thing that violates God’s principle, anything that robs the anointing of God on your life. Check point #2: Never blame God for your failure. This is the first starting point. Look what Adam and Eve did when they sinned? Genesis 3:12-13 Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." [13] And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." Adam blamed both God and his wife in the same statement instead of saying ‘Lord! Please forgive me, I’m sorry’. He should have valued God’s Word first and refused to eat of the fruit. But, he didn’t and he blamed others. Look at Eve: She blamed serpent, the devil for her failure instead of saying ‘Lord! it is my fault’ From that day on, this disease plagues mankind. Check point #3: Never blame others for your failure. Solution: Live free from sin. Do not violate God’s principles. You as a man and woman are not designed to live violating God and His principles. Accept your own failure. Do not blame God. Do not blame others. Victory will start setting in your life quickly. You can live a continued anointed life. Your progress is dependent only on you. Seeing yourself to be the cause of failure is the starting point. Luke 18:13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Realizing the poverty in our own spirits. Not the poverty in spirit of the husband or the wife but our own spirit. Do we have clean records? Daniel 6:4-5 So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. [5] Then these men said, "We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God." Is there any debt that you owe anybody? Now, if our plate is clean, then if there are failures, we need to check if we are doing things according to God’s will with much prayer. If we are sure we are doing things according to God’s will then victory is sure. And if we still have failures, then we need to check if the enemy is hindering our progress. If we see that the enemy is, we need to take authority since we are called to be kings. In Jesus’ Name claim the situation. Guard your anointing. The anointing will teach you all things. 1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. |
