I. Introduction.

Rom. 7:11 Sin (Satan) will seize every opportunity to deceive and kill us

II. Our Minds: Battleground for two forces (v. 14-20).

v. 14 We strive for the spiritual, but we are of the flesh
v. 15 Q: Why do we do the very things we hate? Gal. 5:17
v. 16-17 A: We give control to the sin that dwells within us

v. 19-20 Satan approaches each of us with his lies, we must not be deceived

Four people Satan approached:
Ananias -Acts 5:3, Judas -John 13:2, David -1 Chr. 21:1, Jesus Christ -Luke 4:1-11

III. Satan does not want to lose his grip on your life (v. 21-24).

v. 21 A roaring lion, a devious serpent 1 Pet. 5:8, Rev. 12:9
v. 22-23 We live in a body of death; we should replace our death with Christ’s death 1 Pet. 7:5, 2 Cor. 4:10
v. 24 When they call my name to defend my reputation, there is only one thing I can say,
"I’m a wretch, I’m a worm, I’m a no good sinner,"but He said, "I’ll save you anyway".

IV. We have the victory in our spiritual struggle (v. 25).

v. 25 Christ has already won the spiritual victory (1 Cor. 15:57), but we are still flesh

IV. Conclusion: How can we resist Satan?

Know the Truth- John 8:32, John 17:17
Train your mind- 1 Cor. 2:16, Phil 4:8, Rom. 12:2, Ps. 1:2, 2 Cor. 10:5, Eph 6:11-18
Never leave Christ- John 15:9-11, 1 John 1:7, James 4:7
Remember that we have authority- I John 5:18, Col 2:15, Luke 10:17
